Yetter's new 5000 Stalk Devastator attachment is aimed at ending premature tire and track damage due to punctures from crop stubble.
The rollers on the Devastator push stalks over, crushing them, which allows tires and tracks to easily roll over the stalk without damage. The rollers also reduce stubble damage to tires, wires, and hydraulic hoses on combines, trucks, tractors, and seeding and tillage implements.
As the Devastator passes through the field it knocks stubble over, leaving the stalk attached and the roots partially broken – so they don't blow away. Then, with increased soil contact, the tipped stubble is more easily broken down by weathering and soil bacteria.
The solid steel design of the 5000 Stalk Devastator is quick and easy to install, with mounting kits for most corn head models, and it is designed not to interfere with most header transport carts.
