Add Japan to the list of countries that will now accept Agrisure RW - the corn rootworm trait introduced into the field by Syngenta Seeds this season. The trait is now approved in Canada, Japan and has import approval in Australia and New Zealand.
The company developed a comprehensive stewardship program to launch the product since Japan approval was not available at planting time. This created some controversy in the field, however, today's announcement helps allay fears of export trouble to Japan.
The company says it will continue the grain stewardship program through the end of 2007. In 2008, Agrisure RW will be part of the Market Choices grain direction program that also includes other traits not currently approved for the European market.
